TIRE MECHANICS SYMPOSIUM
The 50th Tire Mechanics Symposium will be held Sept. 14-18, 2020 in Akron, OH, USA, concurrently with ITEC Tire Manufacturing (Sept. 15-17).
This educational and developmental course will provide engineers and scientists with an in-depth, intense study of the latest developments surrounding tire engineering. The course is designed for practicing engineers, chemists and scientists who are concerned with tires and vehicles and who have an engineering or science background at the Bachelor of Science level. The basic and practical aspects of the mechanics of pneumatic tires will be introduced by internationally renowned experts in tire mechanics. Over 1,000 pages of course notes prepared by the instructors will be provided for all participants. Those who complete this course will receive a certificate from the University of Akron.
RUBBER EXTRUSION TECHNOLOGY COURSE
The 48th Rubber Extrusion Technology Short Course will be held Sept. 16-17, 2020 in Akron, OH, USA, concurrently with ITEC Tire Manufacturing (Sept. 15-17).
This two-day presentation of the Rubber Extrusion Technology course will be focused on topics of interest to tire manufacture:
• Compounding and testing of rubber compounds for tires, and
• Extrusion processing of tire components.
The course will introduce attendees to state-of-the art technology for rubber testing, processing equipment, instrumentation (laser sensors) and numerical simulation.
